How to Use Cayucos Surf Wax

Start with a cool, clean and dry board. Apply our Base Coat first using firm pressure until the bumps begin to build, then ease off the pressure and continue to build the bumps until you have a solid foundation of aggressive bumps. Finish by applying the applicable temperature Cayucos Surf Wax Topcoat using light even strokes to lay the grip. Paddle Out.

The Complete Set. Our Cold Water Bundle has one bar of our Base Coat plus one bar of our Cold Water Topcoat. This bundle gets you all you need for cold water sessions at a special price to get you started. 

Unlike traditional single step waxes, our Base Coat is designed to build the foundation first. It takes a little more time to build the bumps, but the result is a stronger, longer lasting grip that stays with you in the water. Our Base Coat is the foundation to the Cayucos Surf Wax two-step system. Applied to a cool, dry board, it creates aggressive wax bumps that give your Topcoat something to lock onto for dependable traction that lasts session after session.

Our Cold Water Topcoat is designed to be applied over Cayucos Surf Wax Base Coat, locking onto the bumps to deliver dependable traction while preserving the aggressive foundation created by the Base Coat in cold water (48-68F).

Unlike traditional single step waxes, our two-step system creates a durable foundation first, then adds the temperature-specific traction you need for confident surfing.
